Jiona Smith - The Girl Behind the Company Jaysbudgetingplan LLC
Updated: Sep 25

Hello everyone, I am Jiona Smith the CEO of Jaysbudgetingplan LLC. Such a fancy title but make no mistake. I am a real person, that has come from loads of struggle myself.
I am a mother of 2 kids. I used to be a delivery driver working 12 hours 7 days a week. Trying to keep a roof over my head, food in the fridge, the electricity on, and pay all my bills on time. Working so much was killing me. I would burn myself into the ground just trying to make my own ends meet.
I would be so tired and want to give up on many things but knew I had to keep going. I knew I wanted better for myself. I wanted a change. I wanted to feel successful.
I felt like I was not getting anywhere. And to be honest, a lot of the time I didn't actually get anywhere. I always ended back at square one. All I did was waste time and energy. That is exactly why I wanted to find something in the world that everyone could use. A different kind of help. I used to struggle so much I could talk about it all day.
But everyone needs to remember we are all at a different point in their life. Some people have it all, some have a little bit they are struggling to hang on to, and some of us have nothing. I hate to see ANYONE struggling especially if I knew I had something that could help them out and change their life. So here I am.
I know what it feels like to have all these bills due, goals sitting in the back of your mind, and having no idea how everything is going to be okay. The stress of trying to stretch money, make the right choices, and feel like you are failing.
That’s a big part of why I built my company.!
This company didn’t come from a perfect life, a huge bank account, or some picture-perfect story where everything just fell into place. It came from real life, challenges, and lessons I had to learn the hard way. I realized other people needed help too.
So today, I want to tell you about the real Jiona Smith. Not just the business name, the budget plans, or the posts you may see online. Just me, my journey, my goals, and why this work matters so much to me.
I didn’t build this company from a perfect place!
A lot of people see a business and assume the person behind it has everything figured out.
I wish!
The truth is, I’ve had moments where I felt confused, overwhelmed, and unsure of what step to take next. Moments where life felt heavy, and money was one of the things adding pressure. I had to learn how to keep going even when I didn’t have all the answers. Just like everyone else.
Building a company while still growing as a person is not easy. There are days when you feel proud and excited. There are also days when you question yourself.
Am I doing the right thing? Will people understand what I’m trying to build? Will anyone believe me? Can I really help someone else if I’m still learning too?
Those questions used to make me nervous. Now, they remind me that I’m human. They also remind me to take it one step at a time, which is what I tell my clients to do when I am working with them...ironic isn't it?
I didn’t want JaysBudgetingPlan LLC to feel complicated. I didn’t want people to feel judged when they needed help with money. I wanted it to feel like sitting down with someone who understands that life happens!
Because it does!
"If I could have one dream in life, that dream is to be the person that you needed when no one else was there." - Jiona Smith
Things are not just black and white. There are grey areas in between.
The issue isn’t that someone is lazy with money. Maybe they were never taught how to budget. Maybe the income might be too tight. Expenses just keep rising. Or maybe you are drowning in emotions tied to spending because money is connected to stress, survival, and family.
I understand. I would never shame my clients for anything they have going on in their life big or small. I've dealt with that behavior myself. It's not fun. Everyone needs someone, even if it's just one person, to make them feel like they are not alone.
Budgeting will NEVER be just numbers on paper. It’s habits, mindset, patience, clearing debts, and building up. That lesson changed everything for me.
When I started looking at money differently, I started looking at myself differently. I stopped seeing budgeting as useless or complicated. I started seeing it as the tool needed for success.
A budget became a way to say:
I deserve peace
I deserve a plan
I deserve to build something better, even if I start small
That’s the heart behind my company.

The challenges that shaped me
Some of the hardest challenges weren’t even about money itself. They were about confidence, consistency, fear, and learning how to trust the process when progress felt slow.
I had to overcome comparison
It’s easy to look around and feel like everyone else is ahead. Someone else has the savings, the house, the car, the business, the perfect-looking life. Meanwhile, you’re trying to figure out how to pay things on time, save a little, and still breathe.
Comparison makes you feel stuck before you even start. I had to learn that my journey is mine. My starting point and pace doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s.
Learning discipline without being too hard on myself.
There’s a difference between holding yourself accountable and talking down to yourself. I had to learn that messing up one week didn’t mean the whole month was ruined. It meant I needed to adjust.
That’s something I bring into my budget plans too. A good budget should have room for real life and help you get back on track. Not make you feel like you can’t recover from one mistake.
I had to overcome fear.
Starting a company is a big challenge. You’re putting your ideas, your name, and your work out into the world. People might support you. Some people might not understand. Some may doubt you. Some may need exactly what you offer but feel they don't need it. And the big fear... the company could fail.
I decided fear WILL NOT be the boss of me!
I could be scared and still take the step. I could be unsure and still learn. I could be a small company now and later turn into a huge successful business later. That mindset definitely pushed me in business, and it helped me in life.
One thing I’ve learned is that confidence comes after action. Not before. Sometimes you don’t feel ready until you start doing the thing.
I make the budget. The client saves the first $100. They pay one bill on time. They create their first goal. I helped them. They keep showing up.
Little by little, WE start seeing a difference.

How the idea for Jaysbudgetingplan started
The idea came from a simple place: I saw a need.
I knew people were struggling with money in silence. They needed help and maybe couldn't afford it. They want help but didn’t know where to begin. Budgeting can feel confusing, especially when it’s explained in a way that feels too technical or too strict.
I wanted to make budgeting feel more personal and simple.
That’s where the idea kicked in.
I started thinking about the kind of help I would have wanted when I was trying to figure things out alone. Something simple. Something that helped me see what was coming in, going out, needed attention, and what goals were still possible. That’s what I wanted to create for others.
When I say “budgeting,” I don’t just mean telling people to stop spending. That’s one of the biggest misunderstandings about budgets. A budget is not just a list of things you can’t do.
A budget can help you decide what matters most. It helps you prepare for bills, see patterns, start saving, and stop guessing. And when someone stops guessing, they usually start feeling a little more in control.
That matters.
If you found me by searching for Jiona Smith, Jaysbudgetingplan LLC, Budgeting, or Needing help, I want you to know the heart of this company is real support. I care about helping people find a starting point, especially if they are stressed.
The company grew from my own lessons, but it became bigger than me once I saw how many people needed a plan they could actually understand.
Sometimes people just need someone to help them organize what’s already in front of them.
That might mean creating a monthly budget, planning for bills, catching up, learning how to separate needs from wants, or setting small goals and building from there.
To me, budget help should feel realistic. If a plan only works one time, it won’t help much. Most people need something they can use daily. That’s the kind of work I care about.
What my budget plans have helped others see
One of the most meaningful parts of this journey has been seeing people realize the job that they currently have IS enough to make their life possible and enjoyable.
Sometimes, when someone has money problems, they feel like everything is too messy to fix and that they need multiple jobs to fix it. But once we put things on paper, the situation often becomes clearer.
A lot of people think budgeting means they need a lot of money first. I don’t believe that.
Budgeting can be helpful at any income level because it gives money a job. Even if there isn’t much left over, knowing what's happening can reduce a lot of stress.
Of course, a budget cannot fix every problem by itself. If income is too low or bills are too high, a person may need more resources, support, or bigger changes. I never want to act like a budget magically solves everything. Although, my clients seem to feel that way because they have been struggling for years, and I helped them in a few months.
A budget can be a strong first step. It can help someone make choices with more awareness and ask better questions.
That’s why I care so much about money problems, money solutions, budgeting, budget help. Behind every money problem is a person trying to figure it out.
And I never want people to feel like they have to figure it out alone.

What I’ve learned while building my company
Building this company has taught me lessons I couldn’t have learned by just thinking about it. I had to live them.
Starting small counts.
A lot of people wait until everything is perfect. Perfect logo. Perfect confidence. Perfect plan. Perfect timing. But perfect timing rarely shows up. Sometimes you have to start with what you have and improve as you go! Which is what I work on daily!
New advertisements. New Leads. New Blogs. New business cards. New ideas. I'm learning! Everyday feels exciting and most days feel scattered. That's just a part of life.
I created the company to help people in need. People that have gone through the same things I have.
People connect with honesty.
I would never act like i've never had a hard day, or act like budgeting is always easy. I don’t want to pretend that growth happens without moments of doubt.
People can feel when something is real.
When I share from the heart, it gives other people permission to be honest too. They can say, “I need help.” They can say, “I don’t know where to start.” They can say, “I’ve made mistakes, but I want to do better.” That kind of honesty is where change can begin.
Discipline and grace have to work together.
If you only have discipline, you might become too strict with yourself. If you only have grace, you might avoid the hard parts. We need both. Discipline tells me to keep showing up. Grace reminds me that I’m still human.
That balance has helped me build my company, and it’s also how I try to approach budgeting. Yes, we need plans. Yes, we need responsibility. But we also need patience with ourselves while we learn.
Consistency is more powerful than motivation.
Motivation comes and goes. Some days you feel ready to take on everything. Other days you just want to rest. If I only worked when I felt motivated, I wouldn’t get far.
So I’ve learned to build habits. Small habits. Checking in. Writing things down. Following up. Creating plans. Learning new things. Taking care of myself. Resting when I need to.
That applies to money too. A budget doesn’t work because you looked at it once. It works when you come back to it. Even a quick weekly check-in can make a difference.
Helping people is a responsibility.
When someone trusts you with their money situation, even just the basics, that’s personal. Money can carry stress, fear, embarrassment, and hope. I take that seriously.
I want people to feel respected when they come to me. I want them to feel like their situation matters. I want them to know I’m not there to judge them.
I’m there to help them take the next step!
Who I am outside the company
I’m someone who values peace. I care about my goals, but I also care about being able to enjoy life. I like moments that feel simple and real. Time to think, laugh, reset, and be around people I love.
In my spare time, I like to stream games on twitch, spend time with my kids, clean and decorate my house, and go on a nice drive every now and then.
I’m the type of person who feels deeply and thinks a lot. I care about doing things with purpose. I don’t want to build something just for attention. I want what I create to mean something. I want my life to reflect growth.
Not perfection. Growth.
My personal goals matter to me just as much as my business goals. I want stability and peace. I want to keep learning and create a life where I’m proud of the choices I made, even if the road wasn’t always easy.
I want to be able to look back and say I didn’t give up on myself.
I am the kind of person who helps others without losing herself in the process. That’s a real goal. When you care about people, it can be easy to pour out a lot. I’ve had to learn that taking care of myself helps me show up better.
Rest is part of growth too. So is joy. So is having a life outside of work.
That’s something I’m learning, and I think it’s beautiful to admit that. I’m building the company, but I’m also building myself.

My biggest goal is to make budgeting feel possible
My ultimate goal is simple to say, but big to build. I want JaysBudgetingPlan LLC to help people feel like budgeting is possible for them. Not just for people who already have everything together. Not just for people who grew up learning about money. Not just for people with perfect spending habits.
For real people.
People who are starting over. People who are embarrassed to look at their finances. People who are tired of living in survival mode. People who want to save but don’t know how. People who need a plan that makes sense. People who have dreams but feel blocked by money stress.
I want my company to be a place where people can begin again.
Because that’s what budgeting can offer. A beginning. A reset. A chance to look at your money and say, “Okay, this is where I am. Now what can I do next?” That next step may be small, but small steps can still change a life.
My goal is also to keep growing my own knowledge and skills so I can serve people better. I never want to stop helping. Money changes, life changes, people’s needs change, and I want to keep paying attention.
I want to create tools and plans that are easy to follow. I want to explain things in a way that feels human. I want to help people reach their life goals, one step at a time.
If there’s one thing I hope you take from my story, it’s this: you don’t have to have everything figured out before you start. I didn’t. I’m still growing. I’m still learning. I’m still becoming.
But I started.
I chose to turn my lessons into something useful. I chose to build from real life, not from perfection. I chose to keep going through the challenges. And I chose to create a company that helps people feel seen, supported, and capable.
That’s the girl behind the company.
A real person with real goals, challenges, lessons, and a heart for helping others.
And if your own money journey feels messy right now, please don’t let that make you think you’re hopeless. You can start where you are. You can learn. You can make a plan. You can take one step, then another.
Sometimes the beginning is just being brave enough to look at the numbers, asking for help, and believing that a better relationship with money is possible, even before you fully see it.
I built this company because I believe in that possibility. And I’m still building, one plan, one lesson, and one person at a time.
